Celine Meador

An Alabama gulf coast native, Celine Meador began her writing and photography career as a reporter for a Florida daily newspaper—and developed a love not only for taking pictures, but the creative magic of darkroom work. In the first decade of her career both as a photojournalist and a corporate communications director, she received a number of professional awards including inclusion in Who’s Who Among American Women.

Later she followed her dreams to the Cayman Islands to be a magazine photographer, but soon began an entirely new career as a managing partner of a well known scuba diving resort which catered to underwater photography enthusists from all over the world.
Fascinated with the beauty and brilliant color of the underwater, Celine logged hundreds of Caribbean dives with her Nikonos Camera in hand and even founded a publishing company reproducing fine paintings of underwater and other tropical subjects.

With words and images which go beyond reality into memory, emotions and relationships, Celine brings together much of what she enjoys into her work. The author of several books, including Dare To Be Different (Tyndale House Publishers), and Star of Wonder (Blue Canoe Books) which are available online and in bookstores. Celine also authored a line of poetic prints and greeting cards whicn may be found in many fine gift shops.

Celine lives near Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She does private commission work in writing, photography, and graphic design and is the recipient of a number of awards and honors in these fields.
