Painting

I like to look at art that brings a smile to my face. I like to create art that brings a smile to the face of others. It’s the colors that attract me. Whether it be the softest, palest yellow, a bold red, or a cool brilliant azure.

I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. As a child I was always drawing or making a collage out of shells, or one summer I spent the whole vacation making rock people for all my friends and family.

I received my BFA from the University of Massachusetts, with a minor in photography. I went into the printing industry after college as a color specialist.

I married my husband John in 1986 and in 1988 my twin sons were born, and so my artistic aspirations were put aside to raise a family.

We moved to Mebane, NC in 1997. After sending my youngest child to preschool it was time to dust off my old love and begin to create again. I started taking a painting class in 2004; I had the opportunity to have two shows at the Paramount Theater in Burlington thru the Emerging Artists Program. In 2006 I partnered with another artist to open an art gallery in downtown Mebane and in 2007 transitioned it into a co-op with 35 dynamic artists.
